Although the economy is languishing, tourism still grows aggressively and makes a handsome contribution to Vietnam GDP every year.According to General Department of Statistics, the amount of international visitors coming to Vietnam estimated 6,119 thousands of arrivals in the first three quarters this year. It is more likely that the amount of international visitors will keep increasing rapidly in the last quarter. The amount of foreign tourists who came to Vietnam with the purpose of traveling and relaxing accounts for 50% of the total amount of the international visitors.

From the point of view of foreign travelers’ purpose, the amount of international visitors coming to Vietnam to travel and relax is 3,750 thousands of arrivals, increase about 12.7%. The amount of international visitors coming to Vietnam to work is 1,023.8 thousands of arrivals, increase about 8.6%. The amount of international visitors coming to Vietnam to visit relatives is 1,018.2 thousands of arrivals, increase about 8.4%.

From the point of view of means of transport, the amount of foreign tourists coming to Vietnam by air is 4,826.9 thousands of arrivals, increase about 7.3% as compared with the same period last year. The amount of foreign tourists coming to Vietnam by sea is 177.8 thousands of arrivals, decrease about 20% as compared with the same period last year. The amount of foreign tourists coming to Vietnam by air is 1,114.2 thousands of arrivals, increase about 35.7%.

Especially, in October, the amount of foreign travelers is about 628,625 arrivals, increase about 2.3% as compared with the same period last year.

In general, the amount of international visitors within 10 months of this year is about 6,119,969 arrivals, increase about 10.4% as compared with the same period last year.

Russia, China, Thailand are some countries which have many citizens visiting Vietnam.

This is encouraging signals for Vietnam tourism. Developing tourism not only boosts the economy but also promote Vietnam’s beauty to the world.
