The Vietnam Military History Museum in Hanoi has seen a record influx of visitors.

The Vietnam Military History Museum, situated in Hanoi’s Nam Tu Liem district, opened on November 1. It houses more than 150,000 artifacts, including four National Treasures.

On November 10, the Vietnam Military History Museum attracted a record 40,000 visitors, a number that rivals the busiest days at the Louvre Museum in France. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thi Lan Huong, head of the museum’s Propaganda and Education Department, remarked that on typical days, the museum usually hosts between 20,000 and 30,000 visitors.

The 40,000 visitors on November 10 came close to matching the Louvre’s peak day in 2019, when it saw 45,000 visitors. That same year, the Louvre set a record with nearly 10 million visitors, according to Afar.

The new museum, with its expansive outdoor areas featuring striking exhibits such as airplanes and tanks, has become a popular weekend destination for families. Its free admission and widespread media coverage further enhance its appeal. Visitors include veterans, families with young children, teenagers, and tourist groups.

Outside the Vietnam Military History Museum, there are exhibits featuring airplanes and tanks, with the Victory Tower standing at the center.

Established by the Ministry of National Defense in Hanoi since 2019, the museum covers 386,600 square meters and holds over 150,000 artifacts, including four national treasures and numerous other valuable items.

The museum’s design not only highlights the history of war but also provides an immersive experience for visitors to connect with the Vietnam People’s Army’s struggle for national independence.

More than 60 video clips showcase military campaigns, battles, and historical figures, providing visitors with a truly unique encounter.
