Vietnam reopen visa application (e-visa & visa on arrival) for citizens of Slovenia starting from March 15, 2022

Updated: 05:59 PM - 22 Dec,2024

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the government of Vietnam has decided to temporarily suspend the visa issuance. This applies to all foreign individuals including the citizens of Slovenia. The virus, also known as Covid 19, has been spreading at a fast rate and the only way to prevent its spread is to minimize the people’s movement. It’s not only Vietnam that has imposed travel restrictions, but several other countries around the world as well.

Now that things are slowly going back to normal, Vietnam is once again accepting visa applications. In fact, the government is hoping to invite more foreign visitors back into the country to boost its tourism economy. For citizens of Slovenia, you’d be able to avail of two types of Vietnam visa, the e-visa and the visa on arrival.

Vietnam E-visa for Citizens of Slovenia

If you’d prefer an easy way to apply for your visa, choose the e-visa. With this visa, you don’t have to queue at the airport or go to the nearest Vietnam embassy. Everything is done online and when the visa is approved, you’ll get it through your email. Thus, you don’t have to leave your home. You can apply it anywhere where there’s an Internet connection.

Make sure you’ve got your passport beside you when you apply for the e-visa. You will be asked to provide information from your passport and you need to make sure that they are entered correctly. The immigration officer will compare the details to that of your passport. If the details will not match, you could be denied entry. Aside from providing the relevant details, you’ll also be asked to upload the biographical page of your passport. You can submit a scanned copy of this. Make sure you have digital copies of your passport-sized photos because you need to submit these as well.

After you submit these requirements, click the next page to pay for the processing fee. You can pay with your card or PayPal account. Submit the payment and you’ll receive a confirmation that the visa application has been received. After a few days, you’ll get response through your email. If your visa is approved, you’ll get your e-visa copy in PDF file. Print this file because this is what you’ll use to enter Vietnam.

Vietnam Visa on Arrival for Citizens of Slovenia

Another type of visa that Slovenian citizens are qualified to avail of is the visa on arrival. Although this is a visa that you can get on arrival, you need to register for this visa in advance. The registration is done online. You’ll be asked to fill out an application form with your name and other important details. Once it’s approved, you’ll receive an email with the pre-approval letter. This is one of the requirements that you need to submit at the airport’s visa counter in order to be given the visa.

Aside from the letter, you’ll also be asked to submit other requirements, such as passport, photos, and application form. Make sure you bring some cash for the $25 stamping fee. You can pay it in Vietnamese dong or US dollar currency.

Things to Keep In Mind

The Vietnam e-visa is good only for single entry and has a validity of 30 days. If you need to stay in the country for more than 30 days, you should consider getting the visa on arrival. The Visa on Arrival is best for longer stays. Aside from giving you an option to apply for the multiple entry visas, you can also apply for a maximum stay of 90 days. But since this visa is only being issued at the airports, you can only get this if you’re entering Vietnam by plane.

Now that things are going back to normal, Vietnam is expecting a surge of tourist visits in the coming weeks. So if you’re flying to Vietnam soon, you should now start your visa application. In fact, the Vietnam Immigration would recommend foreign visitors to apply for the visa at least two weeks in advance. But if you need to visit the country as soon as possible, you can pay more for the rush processing of your e-visa. With the rush processing of your visa, you could get it in as fast as 24 hours!

If this is the first time you are traveling to Vietnam and you need assistance in passing through the airport, you should use the Visa Fast Track Service. This is a VIP service where a company representative will come to greet you at the airport arrival terminal. After greeting you, the representative will then assist you in the processing of your visa on arrival. You will no longer queue at the counter and you’ll be passing through the fast track lane that’s dedicated for VIP passengers.
