1. Nguyen Trung Truc temple
Nguyen Trung Truc is a talented army general of Southerners in particular and Vietnamese in general. He played an important role in the war against the aggressors. The local people built this temple to memory him – an immortal hero of Vietnamese. On 28th Luna August every year, many people from different regions in Vietnam come to this temple to worship him.
2. The cape of Ganh Dau
The Ganh Dau, a headland jutting into the sea, attracts many tourists by its original beauty and its characteristics. From this place, visitors can see the sea border between Cambodia and Vietnam. It featured a beach shaped like an arc and is 500 meters long. It is great for tourists both bathe in the sea and enjoy seafood at restaurant near the beach.
3. The cape of Dinh Cau
Dinh Cau is one of the most attractive places in Phu Quoc Island. At this cape, the layout of rocks is pretty unique; the top of the highest rock is covered by a small ancient temple and some ancient trees. Especially, watching the sunset on a beach makes travelers fall in love with this place.
4. Thom Island
In the northern areas of Phu Quoc Island, there is a group of small islands. The local people call it is Thom Island – a famous beautiful scene of Phu Quoc Island. At Thom Island, visitors easily dive and look the coral under the sea; they also can see aquaculture farms, man-made pearl farms, etc. There is a famous village near Thom Island that is very interesting for tourists can fish cuttle-fish in the evening.
5. Tranh Stream
Tranh Stream is formed by a lot of small streams which run strongly through the forests and chasms. This stream looks its nest in the summer (from June to September). With the advantage of a beautiful landscape, it is the best place who a group of people to go camping, relax or take part in outdoor activities.
6. Da Ban Stream (Feet Stream)
Da Ban stream specially has big flat rocks shaped like feet, so the local people named it “Da Ban”. Legend has it that fairies usually sat on these rocks and took the bath when they came to the world. The flow of this stream is slower than that of Tranh Stream.
7. Da Ngon Stream
With the system of seven waterfalls, Da Ngon stream is the suitable place for those who love to explore and adventure. It always has water all the year around. But the visitors should be careful when coming to Da Ngon Stream in the rain season because rocks here are slippery and dangerous. The period from November to April is the best time to visit this stream.
8. Dai Beach (Long Beach)
With the white sands and the green and clean beach, Dai Beach is one of the most beautiful and primitive beaches which have been voted by BBC channel. Dai beach’s coast is 1500 meters long, there are many big trees which grow straightaway along to this coast. This beach is new land of great potential which can help Phu Quoc Island develop tourism strongly.
9. Coi Nguon Museum (Original Point Museum)
This is the 9th private museum in Vietnam. This is a place keeps mysterious stories about Phu Quoc Island. In this museum, there are 3,000 antiques including 300 precious materials about Phu Quoc’s history; these materials were written by Chinese, Vietnamese, English and French. In addition, there are also many areas presents souvenirs made of sea-shell and pearl, the reservation of herringbone floors, etc.
10. Cay Dua prison (Coconut prison)Coming to Phu Quoc Island, you can see what happened to Vietnamese soldiers. They were maltreated both physically and mentally by foreign invaders, but those soldiers bore their tribulations bravely. Visiting this stockade and exhibits, visitors can know clearly the love of Vietnamese’s country and the history of Vietnam.
11. Sao Beach (Starfish Beach)
Star Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches at Phu Quoc island. It possesses the white sands which is 7 kilometers in length and looks like a decrescent moon.
Because of its gorgeous, this beach is full of tourists in the travel season; so travelers who want to enjoy its beauty should come to this beach in the early morning.
12. Ham Ninh fishing village
Coming to Ham Ninh, visitors maybe have feeling to see the life of old people. The life there almost keeps its original with houses made by leaf. The key jobs of people in this village are diving for pearls, sea cucumber and catching sentinel-crabs. Travelers should visit Ham Ninh in the early morning to enjoy the fresh atmosphere and the peace of life of the local people. Especially, there is a feature food that tourists should enjoy when they come to Ham Ninh: boiled sentinel-crabs. The fresh sentinel-crabs have just been caught from the beach and boiled immediately with the bright red and the mix of salt, pepper and lemon will bring an unforgettable favor for those who have a chance to enjoy it.
13. Fish sauce factory
If visitors visit this factory, they will have a chance to find out the traditional method to make fish sauce with the great taste. This method makes Phu Quoc fish sauce brand becomes special. Phu Quoc possesses more than 100 big casks which are full of hundreds liters of pure fish sauce. Visitors can buy some bottle of fish sauce to make meaningful and unique souvenir for their relatives and friends.
